Miley Cyrus 2014 VMAs Acceptance Speech Given by Homeless Man: Watch His Emotional Speech

Rather than give a controversial performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus used her few minutes of acceptance speech time to spread awareness about the issue of youth homelessness.



In fact, Miley didn't give the speech herself for Video of the Year, rather a friend of hers took to the stage to share his story of living as a homeless person and how, beyond the walls of this swanky VMAs event, there were many people living on the streets.



Powerful? You bet. His speech was extremely touching and Miley was clearly moved to tears as she watched from the audience. He asked viewers to visit her Facebook page to learn how to make a difference.



On her Facebook, she writes: "Help me raise awareness and funds to end youth homelessness! This is just the beginning for me, but we're going to get started now by focusing on My Friend's Place, a homeless center for young people in Hollywood."



Good for Miley for using her fame to help others.
