Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle were happy to receive their bundle of joy on Feb. 2 and are very excited to share the excitement of their daughter Alena with their family and friends, however, are they being a bit too protective?
Many celebrities don’t like showing off pictures of their children, especially when photographer sneak photos of the kids and sell them. Jonas and his wife had already decided that they would reveal the first photo of baby Alena on Instagram to avoid the paparazzi sneaking pictures and gaining cash off of it.
“A lot of people are protective and they don’t share photos of their children at all, and I totally respect that,” said Jonas to Parade.Condenast.com (via Belfast Telegraph). “I actually kind of got upset when somebody took a picture of Alena and posted it without my consent, so to be able to be in charge is really important, but we also want to share these special moments with everyone.”
It looks like Jonas and Danielle are enjoying their parenthood and being a new family, making their union even stronger.
“We’re working together in a different way. Now we have a different kind of bond and we have something that really represents our relationship - it’s more than just the rings on our finger. We created this beautiful life together,” said Jonas.
The couple is happy to share the excitement with family and friends and stated that they feel lucky to have so much support.
“It’s been crazy to see the difference in reactions from everyone in the family,” said Jonas. “It’s been really great and the more she grows older, the more time everyone will spend [with] her. There’s a lot to look forward to.”
It appears that Kevin’s younger brother Joe, enjoys spending time with baby Alena as he previously posted an adorable Instagram picture of him holding the newborn baby.
“She is so tiny, It kind of scares me,” said Joe to E! News during the G-Star RAW X Bionic event in New York City. “She was awake, kicking and smiling and grabbing for your finger.”
Joe stated that having “a female life” and new member in the family is “mind blowing” and “exciting.”
“I honestly can’t wait to spend more time with her,” said the 24-year-old.
Joe revealed that his older brother and his wife and doing “great” and he is “so happy for them” as they start this new chapter in their lives.
“I mean he is a dad now and it’s kind of crazy,” said Joe about Kevin. “I know he has not gotten much sleep. He Instagrammed a picture a like 2 p.m. saying ‘good morning’ with the baby so he was probably was up all night with her as she was crying.”
Joe admitted that the arrival of the baby had brought the brothers closer than ever despite their recent split with the band.
“I don’t want to sound cheesy saying that but you just want to spend more time with each other and you’re just excited for the next chapter for each other’s lives.”
“You know, it’s amazing having a daughter that every minute you want to be with her. And of course she does something awesome. Like she found her thumb yesterday so she started sucking her thumb yesterday and I wasn’t there,” said Kevin to E! News during the Hollywood Domino benefit event honoring Artists for Peace and Justice in February. “I didn’t see it and I was like, ‘UGH!’ but it’s good.”
Kevin and Danielle are excited to continue their life as parents as they continue to share special moments with their daughter.
