Emma Watson probed over illegal housekeeper?

Emma Watson has hit headlines after it was claimed she'll be probed over her US housekeeper working illegally in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, the Home Office are investigating whether Watson's maid, who only had a tourist visa, was working at her north London home.

A source claimed that the maid, who started working for Emma in New York last year, was stopped by UK immigration staff, who asked how she would fund her stay over here.

Now Border Agency staff have launched a probe after receieving a complaint that she was paid to help Emma at her London home, claiming she worked for a total of three months in Britain.

The Home Office can impose penalities of up to £10,000 per worker on bosses who breach immigrations rules. And while the Home Office said it would not comment on individual cases, a source at the department said:

"An allegation has been received and processed and has been allocated for further action."

Neither Emma's spokesman or lawyer have responded to requests for comment on the issue, according to the Daily Mirror.
