Joe Jonas helps a fan win student election by recording video endorsement at L.A. Kings game

A funny thing happened to Joe Jonas while he was at the Los Angeles Kings game on Monday.

A fan named Mia Mavromichalis approached him to make a brief speech on video encouraging her high school classmates to vote for her as student council president and he did - and it did the trick.

'Culver City High School, you've got to vote for my girl, Mia,' Joe told student voters in the eight-second video.

Mia soon posted the video to her Instagram page and won the election on Wednesday morning, thanks in large part to the 24-year-old Jonas brother and his enthusiastic endorsement.

'Really excited the ad worked,' an obviously flattered Joe told TMZ, adding jokingly: 'I've actually launched a political ad firm - but only for high school and college campaigns, and only while I'm at sporting events. We're open for business.'

Although Mia doesn't believe she won the election because of Joe's attention-getting plug, she told TMZ that many of her fellow high schoolers admitted the video won her their votes.

Mia also tweeted a photo of a smiling Joe along with herself and a friend in the stands at the Kings game.

She also shared another, close-up picture of her music idol and hinted that he didn't know how to work the phone, writing: 'Even when Joe Jonas takes an accidental selfie on your phone he still looks beautiful.'

The one that Joe actually attended the game with was friend Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late actor James Gandolfini.

The buddies were spotted strolling to the entrance of the venue as if they hadn't a care in the world, later cheering for their team with shouts and waving arms.

Who knew that Joe, who was casually clad in jeans, denim jacket and black T-shirt, would turn out to the real star of the day.

Romantically speaking, the pop star and actor has been dating illustrator Blanda Eggenschwiler, 30, since November 2012.
