Here's a fun cautionary tale for the kiddies: when you're bored, steer clear of making terrorist threats on Twitter. It could get you in some major deep trouble, as this 14-year-old Demi Lovato fan found out.
Sarah, who guys by Twitter name @QueenDemetriax_ ended up with her Twitter account suspended over the little prank--but that's not all. She also got arrested. Terrorist threats (prank or not) are taken very seriously.
She initially tweeted: "@AmericanAir hello, my name is Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I am part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye"
American Airlines responded: "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."
Things took a nervous turn after that, as Sarah began tweeting that she was "kidding" and "scared" and that she's "just a girl." In the process of the drama, she gained 30,000 followers before her account was yanked.
She even tweeted about wanting to be famous, but maybe not quite like this, writing: "I always wanted to be famous, but I meant like Demi Lovato famous, not Osama bin laden famous"
She tweeted and deleted: "Im just a fangirl pls I don't have evil thoughts and plus I'm a white girl." And she also "blocked the FBI just in case"--because that'll work.
Turns out, it didn't. She was arrested in Rotterdam, NY Daily News reports.
Moral of the story--when you're feeling bored, don't do what Sarah did.
