Emma Watson always radiates confidence on the red carpet, but surprise! The former Harry Potter starlet says she's actually "socially awkward."
In a new interview with Wonderland magazine, the 23-year-old actress explains that she's "extremely self-conscious in public."
"The truth is that I'm a shy, socially awkward, introverted person. At a big party, I'm like Bambi in the headlights," Emma reveals. "It's too much stimulation for me, which is why I end up going to the bathroom! I need time outs. I get anxious. I'm terrible at small talk and I have a ridiculously short attention span."
But Emma wasn't scared to make a major hair change, when she chopped her long locks into a pixie cut in 2010.
"To be honest, I felt more myself with that haircut," she says. "I felt bold, and it felt empowering because it was my choice. It felt sexy too."
Emma admits she was sort of trying to craft a new image with her drastic cut, just like many of her short-haired Hollywood peers.
"I think Jennifer Lawrence needed to cut hers off. Maybe Miley Cyrus is a better example?" she concludes.
