Nick Jonas was among the terrified masses caught up in the Los Angeles International airport shooting Friday—and Popdust has the details.
LAX was on lock down after a man, initially reported to be a former Transport Security Administration employee, but now thought to be a ticketed passenger, walked into the airport, pulled an assault rifle out of his bag and started firing—killing a TSA agent and wounding several others.
The gunman then proceeded through the security screening area into Terminal 3 where he continued firing until he was eventually shot by police—the suspect is currently in critical condition.
Not surprisingly, it was a chaotic and terrifying scene at the airport as waiting and arriving passengers were shepherded to safety—including Jonas whose plane had just landed at the time of the incident..
“Landed at LAX to the news there was a shooting at the terminal my plane was supposed to deplane at,” he tweeted, following up with, “Currently waiting in the plane at a remote parking area. I am praying for the victims of the shooting.”
The LA Times reports that at least seven people were injured in addition to the TSA employee who was killed.
