The silliest legal spat in recent music history won't be coming to an end any time soon.
US producer-rapper Pharrell Williams has launched legal action against fellow US rapper will.i.am in a tussle over the phrase "i am".
Williams, 40, who owns the YouTube channel, i am OTHER, said the Black Eyed Peas frontman has sent him letters insisting his use of the phrase infringes on the "i am" trademark.
will.i.am, 38, has owned the trademark since 2001, and uses it for organisations like his i.am.angel Foundation.
Williams filed legal papers on Monday, insisting that his website uses the phrase "i am" differently from will.i.am.
