Turns out, an insider has a theory--believing it's their way of rebelling.
So, that means Niall Horan isn't a rebel?
An insider tells Heat magazine (via UnrealityTV.com) that Harry, Liam, Louis and Zayn's love of ink is directly related to how manly they want to be perceived.
Or, you know...whatever.
The source noted, "The boys started having them done to assert themselves as men, rather than the boys who were in The X Factor. They're so controlled in every aspect of their lives it's also their way of rebelling."
What if they just...you know...like tattoos?
The source did clarify that they generally get tattoos that are meaningful, noting, "Harry says it's about permanently signifying his journey, because he knows it won't last forever."
They continued, "Zayn has his X Factor number, six, on his forearm, and Louis and Liam also have symbols and sayings that mean things to them."
Niall, for now, remains the only 1D guy unmarked.
