Mark Millar: Emma Watson can Kick-Ass in my new spy movie

COMIC book genius Mark Millar is looking to add a touch of magic to his next Hollywood film — by getting Harry Potter babe Emma Watson to star in it.

The 43-year-old Scot behind box office smashes Kick-Ass and Wanted has already landed screen legend Michael Caine for his next comic-to-movie venture The Secret Service.

And he has set his sights on 23-year-old Watson — who shot to fame as witch Hermione Granger in the Potter films — to take the lead female role in the spy flick.

Last night a source said: “The director, Matthew Vaughan, is deep in talks with Emma right now.

“It would be a surprise if she turned him down as The Secret Service is going to be huge.”

The movie sees a young ned called Gary — played by British newcomer Taron Egerton — recruited by the secret service.

Egerton will be trained by chief spook Caine, 80, along with Bridget Jones hunk Colin Firth, 52.

A series of cameo roles have also been arranged, including from Rocket man Elton John.

Last night a delighted Mark said: “I can’t believe our luck with the cast we’re getting together.

“Michael Caine is a legend. He’s the English Sean Connery so having him and Colin Firth together is really exciting. The female lead has yet to be cast. I can’t say if Emma Watson has been approached, but obviously she’d be amazing in a picture like this.”

Filming is due to start in the next few weeks. Millar also revealed the premiere of Kick-Ass 2 — starring Jim Carrey — will be at Glasgow’s Cineworld on August 12. He said: “Glasgow is the only premiere in Europe. It’s for charity so I’m hoping the tickets will go fast.”
