Zayn Malik reduces his mother to tears after buying her a house in emotional scene from One Direction's This Is Us movie trailer

They might be some of the most famous singers in the world, but family still comes first when it comes to One Direction.

In a trailer for the boyband's new 3D concert movie This Is Us, Zayn Malik is seen using his vast wealth from the group to buy his mother her dream house.

Both Zayn and his mother Tricia are reduced to tears as she makes an emotional phone call to him while he's on tour to thank him for his generous gift.

She tells Zayn: 'I know you always used to say I'll get you a house when you're older... Thank you for what you've done for us. I'm so proud of you.'

And Zayn replies: 'Well get off the phone then before I start crying too!'

Tricia and two of Zayn's three sisters are then seen making their way into their new home, with Zayn's mother beaming with delight as she observes her surroundings.

The emotional scene is just one of the times One Direction focus on family in the new trailer.

The boys' mothers are also seen explaining how much they miss their sons while they are on tour, with Liam Payne's mother Karen crying as she thinks about just how far away her little boy actually is.

Harry Styles is also seen returning to the W Mandeville bakery in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, where he used to work on Saturdays, and said of his return: 'It's nice to spending time with people who know what I'm actually like.'

He is seen in his old apron greeting a former colleague Barbara: 'This is the one used to pinch my bum on a Saturday.'

But One Direction fans will be pleased to know the trailer suggests the movie has a few surprises in store, including a bit of unwitting nudity.

At one point, an embarrassed Harry ends up on stage in his pants after Liam decided to pull down his trousers during one of their concerts.

However, director Morgan Spurlock helps Harry get his own back as Liam is later spotted looking embarrassed as he is filmed standing in his underwear during a fitting.

The trailer also debuts the group's new single Best Song Ever, which is co-written by Ed Drewett, Wayne Hector, John Ryan and Julian Bunetta.

The three-minute trailer also features cute childhood photos of the five piece, with them reflecting on their young dreams of stardom.

Louis Tomlinson said: 'At school as I was always that guy that made people laugh.'

While Niall Horan admitted: 'I used to get kicked out of class for singing Irish traditional songs.'

The clip sees the five-piece travelling around the world and trying to cross cultural and language barriers.

Niall is seen being educated about miso soup when he mistakenly pours it over his rice during a trip to Japan.

The film also features a cameo about Simon Cowell, who helped put One Direction together on the 2010 series of The X Factor after they originally auditioned as solo artists.

A clip of the music mogul, who also produces the film, features him saying: 'The fans are the ones who made up their minds that this band were gonna be huge.'

Meanwhile, the boys also posted a short clip revealing their new single release, which will be the first track from their upcoming third album.

Best Song Ever is released July 22 on download, but is available to pre-order from midnight on June 26 from www.onedirectionmusic.com.

This Is Us is due for release in cinemas on August 30.
