Remember that time Demi Lovato and Niall Horan were dating...er...rumored to be dating?
While they may have Skyped and had a dinner date, it ended there--and it sounds like Demi and Niall totally fell out of touch.
The crazed One Direction fans also left Demi less than excited about pursuing anything with Niall.
In a new interview with Heat magazine (via Sugarscape.com), Demi was asked if she and Niall keep in touch.
She said, "Not really. Unfortunately, as sweet as he is, it's hard to maintain a friendship with somebody that you really can't hang out with without people automatically assuming that you're dating."
Demi added, "People tweeted and either said really nice things or rude things," explaining, "More nice than bad, i guess--but I dealt with that already with the Jonas Brothers, with being so close to them and then dating Joe."
She explained, "I'd already been through that, so it wasn't a big deal."
Even if they weren't dating, it sounds like Demi and Niall couldn't even make being friends work.
Bummer.
