Demi Lovato: Skincare is vital

Demi Lovato says the best advice she can give teenagers about beauty is to "have a go-to skincare routine".

The singer and US X Factor judge has faced her fair share of criticism over the years and has dealt with insecurities based on her appearance.

The star has turned her experiences into something positive, which she now hopes to pass down to younger girls.

"Wash off your make-up every single day and it's really important to have a go-to skincare routine. It's the most important thing you can do for your skin," she explained to Teen Vogue.

As well as sharing the beauty secrets she's picked up over the years, Demi revealed the essential products she can't live without. The star keeps her make-up relatively simple and goes for practicality more than glamour on a day-to-day basis.

"I always have an extra pair of contacts in my purse. I'm literally blind without them. If I can't drive, I can't do anything," she shared. "And then I also keep a lip balm, a concealer and some lip stains in there."

Her struggle with her eyesight coupled with her past experience of feeling insecure has lead Demi to partner with Acuvue 1-Day contact lenses. Through her collaboration with the brand, Demi will mentor teens and serve as a role model for youngsters.

"I heard that they were doing this incredible contest with teenagers, trying to help them achieve their dreams. I'm just such a firm believer in going after what you believe in, so I definitely wanted to be a part of it," she explained about the partnership. "[If I could I would tell my younger self to] just be patient and enjoy the time you have as a normal kid!"
