Being global pop icons can be a tiring business.
And touring the world has obviously taken its toll on pop princes One Direction, as the band are said to be “desperate” to take time off after their on-going 118-date world tour.
According to sources, the band – made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – want to take four months off from their demanding schedule, but record label bosses are keen for the boys to keep working.
As well as their current tour, which runs until early November, the band have been busy making their 3D film This Is Us, due for release in August. Rumour has it bosses are also keen for them to start working on their third album.
“The boys are working incredibly hard and are in desperate need of some time off,” the source told the Daily Star.
"They want to take a full four months off at the end of the year, but management are keen for them to release another album while they are such hot property. In an ideal world the record label would have another album out in time for Christmas, but that won't be possible."
Apparently the boys, who have become one of the biggest acts in the world over the last two years, are eager to start writing their own material, but bosses don’t want them to slow down after the release of their 2012 album Take Me Home.
“The boys want to take time out,” the source added. "But management know the group can't take too much time off to make the next record because teenage fans are so fickle."
One Direction finish the English leg of their world tour this week with concerts in Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester, before jetting off to Paris.
