Selena Gomez is only days away from her 2013 MTV Movie Awards performance, and she knows exactly what she wants it to look like. On Sunday, Gomez will take the stage at the Movie Awards with her new single "Come & Get It." Expect her to get "earthy," Selena teased.
"We're doing it kind of the theme of the video, which isn't out yet. It's going to be very earthy," she told Ryan Seacrest on Monday (April 8), sharing that she'll likely wear her hair in "really cool braids" and it will involve a lot of fabric. "I know this is a big chapter for me."
In addition to teasing Sunday's performance, she added that the video "was so much fun to shoot. We kind of did an earth, water, fire [treatment]... it was really very organic."
"Come & Get It" is the Stargate-produced lead single off her summer album release. She will perform it live for the first time at the MTV Movie Awards, on at 9 p.m. ET, hosted by "Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson.
While the song is all about diving into a love affair, Gomez insists it wasn't inspired by anyone in particular. "Honestly, to be 100 percent real, it's not really about a specific person. The reason why I wanted this to be the first single was because it exudes, like I said earlier, confidence and strength and that is something I'm willing to share with the world. That's the place I want to be in and I want to represent something good and be a good example, so I think it's fun," she said.
Selena also opened up about her big 21st birthday this July. "I'm gonna have a big party. It's gonna end up at my house. I think me and my mom, we're gonna kind of plan something. I kind of wanted to do a hip-hop theme," she said. "To be 21? I don't really think it's gonna [change]. Of course that aspect of being able to order a drink... but I'm pretty sure nothing's going to change. Still live with my parents. Maybe when I get back after tour, I'll move out. But I like living with my family."
Also, for anyone keeping score, Gomez has yet to get back on the dating scene since splitting from Justin Bieber, claiming no one has asked her out yet. "I am available."
