Harry Styles' success with the opposite sex has got nothing to with his One Direction fame, according to his former football coach – who claims the tousle-haired teen has always been a player, both on and off the pitch.
The 19-year-old singer has enjoyed romantic dalliances with a string of hotties – amongst them Caroline Flack, Taylor Swift and Cara Delevigne – since hitting the big time with 1D, but his sexual exploits are no surprise to those who knew him during his formative years in leafy Cheshire.
Speaking to The Sun, former footie coach Chris Rogers, who managed Harry when he played for the county's Holmes Chapel Hurricanes, insists he was always a hit with the ladies.
“He wasn't the greatest footballer but he was really good with the girls,” he recalled. “Even at six, Harry was a charmer.”
While his lack of physical presence on the pitch meant he was never going to pursue a career in football, Rogers says the young lothario was a popular figure in the dressing room.
“He was timid and not the most physical on the pitch. Even at that stage I think he was protecting his looks,” he said. “He'd play anywhere to get a game. He scored a few nice goals from what I remember.
“He'd always have a quip and a smile with the guys – and with all the mums watching on the sidelines.”
One girl he's clearly made an impression on is stripper Chelsea Ferguson, who claims she enjoyed a steamy night with Harry after a recent drinking binge at Newcastle's Perdu club.
“Things got out of control,” she old The Mirror. “We were intimate. Let's just say all pop stars think they can be with you and Harry is no different.”
Harry's team have since denied the allegations.
