Fame hasn't always been easy for Demi Lovato.
But as she pulled on a bikini and dove into the clear blue ocean in Barbados on Tuesday, the young singer was clearly loving her life.
Not content with just sunning herself on the sandy beaches, Demi instead set out on a snorkelling trip, donning flippers as she went for a swim.
As she emerged from the ocean her trusty bodyguard was there ready and waiting with a towel for the X Factor judge to dry off.
The 20-year-oldobviously enjoyed every moment of her dip, tweeting to her fans: 'Life is too short to not be grateful for every moment we are alive.
'Today I have so much to be thankful for. #blessed.'
And Demi's relaxing day was well deserved, coming as it did the day after she put on an energetic performance at the CHUM FM party.
The star, who is promoting her new album Heart Attack, looked gorgeous in the fitted trousers and floral bustier.
Perhaps to tone down the skintight outfit somewhat, Demi wore a baggy white cardigan, accessorising with a gold chunky necklace.
Demi said during an interview on Live With Kelly And Michael on Thursday that the songs on her new album reflect her life thus far.
'With the album I have a ton of upbeat songs [that are] super catchy that get stuck in your head, which is a good thing,' she said.
'But I also have some pretty emotional songs on there, opening up about things that I haven't ever really talked about. It's a big deal for me.'
Demi appears to be in a far healthier place mentally and physically since entering rehab last year.
The star tweeted a picture of her makeup-free face earlier this month and urged her fans on Twitter to do the same.
'Ladies, be brave today "take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!!!' she tweeted.
