Demi Lovato raised $48,532 for Free the Children in a guest appearance during Celebrity Week for the CBS game show "The Price Is Right." The episode was prerecorded in Los Angeles and was televised on Feb. 22, 2013.
As previously reported, Lovato was among the stars who participated in "The Price Is Right" in Celebrity Week episodes televised from Feb. 18 to Feb. 22, 2013. The other celebrities were brothers Nick and Drew Lachey from the singing group 98 Degrees; TV personality Sharon Osbourne; "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes; and retired basketball star Charles Barkley. The celebrities played for their selected charities. "The Price Is Right" is hosted by Drew Carey.
In Lovato's episode, during the "Showcases" segment, the final two contestants had to guess the estimated cost of two prize packages. The first prize package consisted of Chanel accessories, a trip to Bora Bora and a Toyota Prius. The second prize package consisted of a guitar, a Mercedes-Benz and a trip and tickets to see Lovato in concert in Texas. Each contestant is assigned a prize package, and the contestant who is the closest to guessing the correct cost of his or her prize package is the contestant who wins the package. (The contestant who got the first prize package won.) Lovato was seen interacting with the contestants and introducing some of the prizes.
