Have we missed a trend here or is there a reason why popstars have started to bandage up their limbs lately?
It would be an insult to compare him to Chris Brown but similar to the controversial singer, Zayn Malik was seen yesterday nursing a mystery injury to his right hand.
The One Direction singer’s knuckles were so swollen if you painted his hand red you would be forgiven for mistaking it for a boxing glove.
And as if that wasn’t enough, he was also left with cuts and two of his fingers were taped together. Ouch.
Zayn - who appeared on Daybreak this morning for One Direction day - had spent the day rehearsing in a London studio with Louis Tomlinson for the band’s new arena tour.
But while working might be taking his mind off things, it’s fair to say that Zayn isn’t having a great time of it at the moment after he was alleged to have cheated on pretty girlfriend Perrie Edwards.
An Australian waitress claims to have slept with the 20-year-old and revealed pictures of someone - who looks strikingly similar to the world famous star - sleeping topless.
Courtney Webb , 21, told The Sun of her alleged one-night stand with Zayn in fine detail. She recalled: “Zayn looked me in the eyes and said, ‘You’re so hot, you’re so fit, you’re beautiful’.
“We sat on his bed and before I could even say anything he started snogging my face off, kissing me passionately. It just snowballed from there. We fooled around, then had sex. It was amazing.”
Despite admitting she expected a backlash from One Direction fans – dubbed Directioners – Courtney confessed that she has been left devastated after receiving a barrage of online abuse and hundreds of death threats.
A friend close of Zayn, Leon Anderson, was accused by Courtney of inviting her back to the singer’s £2.2million north London mansion on the night of the alleged sexual encounter.
Following the reports and claims from Courtney, Leon posted her number on Twitter which led to the Aussie apparently receiving hundreds of hateful phonecalls.
While all of this drama was unfolding, in the real world Zayn flew from France to Nottingham for crisis talks with girlfriend Perrie before her gig.
A source told us: “They spent time together but Zayn didn’t come along to the show. As far as everyone is concerned he’s currently off-limits.”
If you consider the accusations, it’s unfortunate that Zayn’s lyrics in 1D’s single Live While We’re Young would be such an accurate reference to the damaging claims.
He sings: "It's now or never, don't over-think, just let it go, and if we get together, yeah get together, don't let the pictures leave your phone."
His bandmate Louis has been forced to deny the lyrics on new album Take Me Home are “dirty.”
"The thing is with the way the lyrics read, they read how you want them to read," he said.
"If you want to read them with a dirty mind, fair enough. But if not, it can mean a completely different thing," added Louis.
Harry Styles gave his opinion, too, because he’s basically the leader of the band: "I think you read into it what you will. We are 18, 19 and 20 year-old-boys. The fans seem to like it, so it's all good."
We don’t have the time (or effort) to read the lyrics of their entire album so here are some rather risky lines that we remember.
