If you think that just because the home video release of "The Avengers" has come and gone, the studio and others would be done with video releases, you're wrong. On Thursday, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) released a behind-the-scenes video showing the magic behind the blockbuster movies epic finale.
Of course, ILM is now owned by Disney, as part of its LucasArts acquisition. It's certainly a good thing, as Disney is the studio behind "The Avengers" and the individual films for its heroes (Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, etc.); it's all in the family, now.
The next film in the Disney Marvel Comics universe is "Iron Man 3," which releases on May 3, 2013. It will be followed by "Thor: The Dark World" on Nov. 8, 2013, and then by "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (April 4, 2014).
Finally, the new franchise, "Guardians of the Galaxy" launches on Aug. 1, 2014, leading Marvel Studios into "The Avengers 2" (May 1, 2015).
"The Avengers" was released on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD on Sept. 25, 2012. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, "The Avengers" starred Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / the Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Tom Hiddleston(Loki), Stellan SkarsgÄrd (Dr. Erik Selvig), Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill), Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).
