Their relationship has been dubious for some time and it appears that Selena Gomez has called time on her romance with Justin Bieber, at least temporarily.
The 20-year-old actress was seen keeping a low profile and had her face partially covered as she made her way through the airport at LAX on Thursday.
Shortly before New Year the actress and the pop hit-maker had a massive argument while on holiday in Mexico, according to reports.
The bust up was said to be so big that the pair left the hot spot before ringing in 2013 and according to the New York Daily News Selena left on the 30th of December, with Justin jetting out of the resort the following day.
A source told the website: 'They keep breaking up and getting back together. It's an on-again, off-again relationship. It's probably not correct to characterize this as a final breakup.'
It has been reported that Selena wants to give the relationship a fresh start in 2013.
The 'Love You Like A Love Song' singer - who has been dating Justin Bieber on and off for more than two years - wants to put the drama between them over the past few months in the past.
The 20-year-old shared her hopes for the coming year with her Twitter followers on Tuesday and wrote: 'New beginnings. Fresh start. I love you all.'
A source told HollywoodLife.com the message was for her 18-year-old Canadian boyfriend, saying: '[Selena] said she wants to start things new with Justin again and act like they are a new couple and leave all of the drama and bulls**t behind.'
'She said 2013 is their year and they need to get back to basics. She wants to hold him to it though so she's letting all of her followers know.'
