One Direction Stopped From Splitting With 'Multi-Million Dollar Contract' By Sony

One Direction don't exactly look like they're breaking up just yet with their pockets full of hits, but the boy band will reportedly receive a multi-million dollar payout if they stay together for another three more years.

The five members, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were formed during their stint on the X Factor UK in 2010 and have since stormed the music charts.

The popular boy band would be silly to break up at the peak of their career, but The Sun newspaper reports that music bosses at Sony are keen to keep them from splitting up.

The young heartthrobs have allegedly signed a legally binding document with millions of dollars at stake. ''It's a really clever contract that the boys have signed up to.

"It means they have a real incentive to tough it out and stick together,'' a source told the publication.

The band is reportedly dedicated to putting out an album a year for the next 36 months. If anyone of them walks away before then all will reportedly miss out on the big dollar payday.

''They all get on really well, but it would be the kind of deal that would see them through the worst aggro possible,'' the source said.

The band has already seen enormous success in the UK and has demonstrated crossover appeal, and One Direction reportedly helped to boost Sony Music UK's pre-tax profits to 128 per cent in 2012.
