Miley Cyrus shocked the world when she chopped off her girl-next-door locks in a rebellious bid for attention earlier this year, and has now claimed that she gets an ''adrenaline rush'' from cutting her hair.
The 20-year-old former Disney star lost a shed load of weight before undergoing a drastic style overhaul, chopping off her long blonde locks and boasting an androgynous shaved crop in their place.
Miley not only shocked her fans when she reached for the scissors, but made headlines across the world – and even she admits that making such a big change was a little daunting, despite receiving a positive response from her fiancĂ© Liam Hemsworth.
"My fiancé has been actually the best. I was most nervous about him, only because you hear your whole life that women are supposed to have long, gorgeous hair," she confessed OK! magazine.
"But I think someone is sexier when I see their face. It takes a lot of courage to do it because when I see someone with short hair, I have respect for them.
"There's definitely an adrenaline rush when they are taking their scissors to your hair because it takes some time to grow back."
And it doesn't look as though Miley will be changing back to her old style anytime soon, as the star recently divulged that she can't understand the desire to use fake extensions to add extra length like she was used to doing.
"I feel like I can be so much more casual [now]. I feel cleaner, more modern," she gushed.
"My hair was fake anyway so it wasn't as scary to cut it because I just had to unclip it. Now when I see an old photo, I wish someone would have told me that extensions were not cute when I had them,'' she added.
''I hate them, and I look at them and I just feel the whole look is just not what is in right now anyway,'' she continued.
