Taylor Swift is treated to a fond farewell from fans as she leaves Australia following the ARIAs

She wowed on the red carpet on Thursday evening as she attended the 2012 ARIA Awards in Sydney.

And it seems that Taylor Swift's fans love her whether she's glammed up or not, as they waited at the airport to give her a send-off to remember.

The 22-year-old was in good spirits as she arrived at the airport and she happily posed with her adoring fans before she boarded a flight back home.

The singer dressed causally for the long flight wearing a pair of caramel coloured chinos and a shirt.

She accessorised her outfit with a brown satchel and a pair of Rayban sunglasses.

Her cool look was completed by a splash of red lipstick, while her hair fell in loose waves.

The laid-back outfit was a far cry from her glamorous red carpet look the following evening.

Taylor showed off her fashion credentials in an impeccably elegant, Grecian-inspired flowing cream gown.

Featuring lace panel cutaway detail at the sides, a bustier top and a draped skirt, the chic garment ensured the We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together stole the show as she hit the red carpet at the Sydney Entertainment Centre for the Australian equivalent to the Grammys.

Ahead of the ceremony Taylor, who is reportedly dating Harry Styles, tweeted: 'Woah. The fans at the ARIAs came out in full force!! This is INSANE!'

However, Taylor's purpose in attending the ARIA Awards wasn't merely to decorate the red carpet, with the singer performing her new track, Here Comes Trouble, in the ceremony.

Prior to taking to the stage, she tweeted: 'So excited about performing on the ARIA's tonight! Never been before. Here's comes 'trouble'.... See what I did there? Sorry. I know. Sorry.'

The star put on a typically energetic performance, at one stage grabbing a male dancer and throwing him up into the air.

And she certainly seemed to be enjoying her new surroundings, positing a snap of her posing with a mini Australian flag on her Twitter page.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: 'In the dressing room at the ARIA's. Loving Australia.'
