The members of One Direction are one step closer to getting their own Madame Tussauds wax figures that will be on display at Madame Tussauds wax museums worldwide. The weekend of October 20, 2012, members of the group tweeted photos of themselves posing at the Madame Tussauds location in London with some of the wax figures. Sources say that One Direction has already had meetings with Madame Tussauds officials, and photos of One Direction have been taken as the basis to make the wax figures of One Direction.
The plan is for the One Direction wax figures to go on display sometime in early 2013. One Direction will attend the ceremony to unveil the wax figures, with the ceremony taking place at the Madame Tussaud's location in London on a date to be announced. The One Direction wax figures are expected to among the most popular ever at Madame Tussauds, so people are working around the clock to get the wax figures done as soon as possible.
And here's an insider tip: One Direction's Liam Payne (who currently has his hair in a buzz cut) will have a full head of hair on his wax figure. Several sources close to the situation say that decision was made because Payne has had a full head of hair for most of his time in One Direction, and he is expected grow back is hair in the coming months.
The wax figures will keep many of One Direction's signature fashion looks intact: Harry Styles wearing a blazer, Louis Tomlinson not wearing socks, and Zayn Malik having a quiff hairstyle.
Meanwhile, an insider says it's "not true" that One Direction's Niall Horan, 19, is moving from London to the United States to be closer to "The X Factor" U.S. judge Demi Lovato, 20, who lives in the Los Angeles area. Horan is originally from Mullingar, Ireland, but he has been living in London since 2010, the year that One Direction was created on "The X Factor" U.K. (One Direction came in third place on the show that year.)
Look magazine has been the origin of this recurring rumor that Horan is moving to the U.S. to be with Lovato. In a recent issue of Look, a source said: "Niall finds the distance between them really hard. It's part of the reason why they've tried to keep things casual, but they can't deny their feelings anymore and Niall says he'll do whatever it takes to make Demi his official girlfriend. They speak on the phone every day and have talked about Demi going to Ireland in the New Year to meet his family."
But an insider told me, "Demi and Niall have a real attraction to each other. They flirt, they've hung out together, but they're not boyfriend and girlfriend. He's too close to his family to move to America, and management wouldn't let any of One Direction move outside of the U.K. right now, because logistically, it would be a nightmare."
The insider added, "Zayn [Malik] is the one who's most likely to move to L.A. because he likes it there, and he eventually wants to break into movies, but that's not going to happen until it would be acceptable for anyone in the group to do solo projects outside of One Direction. It's not going to happen in 2013 or 2014 or as long as One Direction's career is what it is right now."
For several months, Horan and Lovato have both publicly denied that they are dating each other, although they have admitted that they have crushes on each other. In October 2012, the Daily Mirror reported that Lovato has privately admitted that she is casually dating Horan but their relationship is not exclusive and he's not her boyfriend.
After that Daily Mirror story was published, Horan and Lovato once again denied that their relationship status is "dating." In an October 2012 interview with Just Jared Jr., Lovato seemed to go out of her way to act as if she isn't very interested in Horan and One Direction. In the interview, Lovato said her current celebrity crush is Channing Tatum, and she said she didn't know the title of One Direction's song "One Thing."
In other news about Horan, he was backstage at "The X Factor" U.K. in London on October 21, 2012. Photos of him backstage are on the Internet.
One Direction's second album, "Take Me Home," is set for release in the U.S. and Canada on November 13, 2012, and in other countries on November 12, 2012. That is also the release date for "Little Things," the album's second single. The album's first single, "Live While We're Young," became a Top 10 hit in several countries around the world.
