It's been a busy few weeks for the boys in One Direction.
They released a new single off their long awaited second album, headlined iTunes Festival and had some personal issues to deal with too.
Liam Payne is famously the more sensible member of the five-piece and often his bandmates will ask his permission before doing anything mischievous.
But he recently split from long-term girlfriend Danielle Peazer and has shaved off his hair in a weird (and slightly upsetting) emotional backlash.
It was rumoured that Liam, 19, was smitten with Leona Lewis and although he did admit that the pair went for a drink, he would never upset his ex.
“Danielle is great, I really hope we can still be friends. I bought her a car for her birthday, but she really isn’t fussed by money or fame,” he told The Sun.
“She was talking about dyeing her hair blonde and I said she should. She said she couldn’t afford it – which was mad. She wouldn't even ask me for the money for that.”
There hasn’t always been tens-of-thousands of adoring fans, hysterically screaming in deafening sold out arenas.
A few years ago, Liam’s dad drove him to Wales where he was booked as a stand in for Blue singer Lee Ryan.
Embarrassingly, only ten people showed up at The Sunshine Festival and Liam – whose fortune is estimated at £20 million – was paid just £50 for his gig which almost forced him to quit music altogether.
“I’m making the most of every second now. After that gig in Rhyl I nearly gave up because it was just embarrassing.”
If it wasn’t for all of his success with One Direction, Liam reckons he “would have been working in a factory on a normal wage” making jet parts in Wolverhampton.
Liam has admitted that despite their worldwide fame and record-breaking album sales, he’s under no illusions that despite obviously having age on their side, 1D can’t last forever.
He said: “There is going to come a time when it all finishes and I just hope we stay mates.”
Liam, 19, revealed he’s worried for the band's bad boy Zayn Malik, who recently quit Twitter after receiving vile threats and comments from anonymous users.
“The only person I really worry about is Zayn, because I don’t think he’s quite accustomed to all of this. He’s had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle,” said Liam.
He continued: “I don’t think he’s quite adjusted to it yet, I’m sure he’ll get it. He’s my best mate. I’ve got to look out for him.
“It’s mad to think I didn’t know them two years ago and now they’re my best mates.”
Liam also revealed that he likes to purchase expensive designer watches as a memento of experiences such as bagging a number one album and performing at the Olympics closing ceremony.
It's a nice touch but now he's got no excuses for being late.
