Matt Cardle definitely isn’t jealous of One Direction, but he does have issue with the way the group is being maneuvered. The 2010 winner of the UK reality singing competition X Factor has had to watch the third runner up group (better known as One Direction) became a global sensation. While he applauds their work, it’s apparent he feels One Direction is being manipulated. Discussing his feelings on how the group is being used on Sunday, he shared his insight about singing reality shows with The Mirror. It’s pretty clear Cardle is feeling a cookie cutter is used on television.
“I was never going to be your JLS or One Direction, where songs are written for them and you're a puppet,” said Matt Cardle talking about X Factor. "People behind the scenes knew I wasn't some puppet and I never felt like one."
After fulfilling his contract, Matt Cardle has parted ways with the show as well as Sony, who offered for him to stay and create music. Feeling his career is going in a different direction, it seems he took the fame he won from being on the show with him while still feeling an obligation to be the biggest critic.
