Miley Cyrus is reportedly in talks to star in a Bonnie & Clyde miniseries that will air on both the History Channel and Lifetime.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Hannah Montana star would play Bonnie Parker. The series is being produced by Smash executive producers Craig Zadon and Neil Meron. The duo, who will also produce the Oscars in 2013, have produced several other TV movies and miniseries, including Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows and The Beach Boys: An American Family. They also produced the upcoming Lifetime movie Steel Magnolias.
The four-hour miniseries will air on both networks, which are parts of the A&E Networks umbrella, notes Zap2It.
A&E Networks has been on a big push to bring in major stars for its TV movies and miniseries. They recruited Lindsay Lohan for Liz & Dick, which will air in November and had a huge success with History’s Hatfields & McCoys, which featured an Emmy-winning performance from Kevin Costner. In January, Rob Lowe starred in Drew Peterson: Untouchable.
There haven’t been any reports of who will play Clyde.
Cyrus is slowly making her return to TV. She recently filmed a cameo appearance on Two and a Half Men.
