As one-fifth of one of the most successful boy bands in the world, Zayn Malik is known for his squeaky-clean image and slick sense of style.
However it would appear that the 19-year-old is undergoing something of a makeover.
A somewhat worse-for-wear Zayn was seen sporting a new growth of stubble and unstyled hair at the end of a long night's clubbing on Tuesday.
The look made quite a contrast to his usually perfectly-quiffed 'do.
Zayn clambered into a cab looking slightly bleary-eyed, accessorising with thick-rimmed glasses.
His somewhat unusual outfit consisted of a couple of layered white vests with a cutoff black vest worn on top.
Neither his one Direction bandmates nor girlfriend, Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, appeared to be with him.
Like his One Direction bandmates, Zayn's starting to gain quite the celebrity following.
Miley Cyrus is the latest famous female to admit to admiring Mr Malik.
During a sleepover with girlfriends, the star took to Twitter to write: 'We’ve spent an hour stalking Zayn from @onedirection.'
She added: 'But gotta admit I love every second of it. ???.'
Of course her tweets were entirely innocent, since the 19-year-old Disney star is engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth.
Zayn recently made his cousin Zarish's day when he made a stop at her 16th birthday party.
He was joined by hisgirlfriend Perrie, which must have been quite the coup for Zarish.
Sadly Zayn was apparently unwell and therefore couldn't stay long, but no doubt his effort was appreciated nevertheless.
As an added bonus Zarish started trending on Twitter after Zayn posted '#HappyBirthdayZarish'.
Zayn had better rest up, since he and his bandmates are due to return to America in a couple of weeks to perform at the MTV VMAs on September 6.
The boys are nominated for two awards – Best Pop Video and Best New Artist.
Their success is increasingly staggering - 1D's record company have just reported that the band has notched up 12 million sales in less than a year,
Syco and Sony Music have given the band a special disc to mark eight million singles, three million albums and one million DVDs.
Liam Payne has said the band are 'humbled' by their success.
'We have an incredible team of people around us who have helped us achieve this,' said the 18-year-old.
'Above all we would like to thank our fans. We owe all our success to them.'
One Direction are certainly giving their fans something to look forward tom, with a planned worldwide tour in 2013 including 39 arena dates across the UK and Ireland.
