Taylor Swift’s already broken records with her new single, “We Are Never Getting Back Together.” The song served as Taylor’s first ever song on the Hot 100 chart (we know, we couldn’t believe it either), and also set the biggest record of digital sales ever for a female artist. But here’s what we’re getting at — the ground-breaking song’s music video has an official release date!
Taylor announced today on her Facebook page that the song for the lead single off of her forthcoming album, Red, will premiere this Thursday, August 30 at 7:49pm ET at MTV, CMT, VH1 and TeenNick. So basically, you’ll be able to watch Tay’s new video on any of those four channels, or, ya know, just wait ten more minutes until the video gets splashed all over YouTube.
Actually, we take that back. You’ll definitely want to watch it on TV, because after the debut of the video, Taylor will be doing an exclusive interview with MTV.com for MTV First: Taylor Swift that will premiere exclusively on the website. But if that’s not enough for you swifties? You can rewatch the video again and again every hour on CMT — the Country Music Channel will be playing it all throughout Labor Day Weekend. Best way to end summer ever.
Of course, this news is just one of the many huge announcements Taylor has made in the past week or so, the others being that she will be performing at the MTV VMAs and that her new album is slated for an October 2012 release. So let’s predict it now — how many Grammys do you think she’s going to win in February?!
