One Direction have scored the fastest-selling pre-order single in history with their forthcoming EP Live While We're Young.
The fivesome have gone to the top of the pre-order charts in more than 40 countries, including the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Spain, France, Singapore, Brazil and Mexico - despite the EP only going on sale last night.
Released on September 30, it will showcase the first material from their as-yet-untitled second LP.
The song Live While We're Young was written by Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk - and is described (by their PR company admittedly) as "pop perfection - an immediate, energy packed song mixing rock undertones with smooth harmonies, about living for the moment".
Meanwhile in other One Direction news, former N-Dubz star Fazer has revealed that he has written a song for the boys - by accident.
Asked by Capital FM if he'd consider writing for them, he replied: "It's funny you say that, I didn't intentionally make a record for them but I actually came up with something the other day when I was writing and I was like, 'This would actually sound great for One Direction'.
"So, I will submit that in the next few weeks and see what happens."
