One Direction Hit Back At Tom Daley Twitter Haters


As Great Britain cheer on their home team during the Olympics, One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have taken to Twitter to boost diver Tom Daley's sprites with message of good luck ahead of his next event.

The pair also told the 18 year-old to ignore negative and abusive messages he received online after his last performance.

The teenager received an offensive message from user 'Rileyy_69' following the competition saying Daley had let his father Rob, who died of brain cancer last year down.

Daley retweeted the message to his thousands of followers: “After giving it my all...you get idiot's sending me this...RT @Rileyy_69: you let your dad down i hope you know that.”

After thousands of people reportedly contacted police regarding the tweet, they confirmed they were investigating the issue, with Dorest police tweeting late last night: “Regarding tweets to @TomDaley1994 - We are aware of the issue and we are actively looking into it.”

Not impressed with the the negativity, Liam Payne tweeted Tom on Monday morning (July 30): "@TomDaley1994 ignore them d******ds mate we all sat and watched you today and we though u did incredible."

While band member Louis added: "@Tomdaley1994 mate, best of luck for the individual. I'll be watching!!"

The lads soon got a reply off Tom: "Thanks :( RT."

The 1D band will reportedly be performing at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony on August 12.

Emeli Sande, Dizzee Rascal and Arctic Monkeys performed during opening event on Friday much to the delight of music fans across the country. Now according to The Mirror, One Direction will to be joined by pal, Ed Sheeran at the closing event.
