One Direction announce new single Live While We’re Young, Zayn Malik gets gagged

One Direction have silenced all the flapping over Zayn Malik's Twitter shenanigans by announcing their brand new single 'Live While We're Young'.

The 1D boys - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn - teased us all by hinting at a big 1pm announcement today.

And sure enough they tweeted: "Here it is...The #1DBigAnnoucement from the boys!! Watch it now to check out their MASSIVE news!!" alongside a link to a video of the boys announcing the new track.

The five boys look chilled in the 25-second clip which sees Liam saying: "Hi guys, One Direction here and we've got a message for you."

Harry then adds: "Our new single Live While We're Young is going on your local iTunes for pre-order from midnight tonight so get yourself a copy there."

Before Louis tells fans: "We wanna say a massive thank you to you guys because we wouldn't be where we are today without you."

Zayn - who stormed off Twitter in a huff before returning this morning - then gets a gagging order from Harry, who places his hand over his mouth.

And that's before Irish cheeky Niall starts stroking him on his face too.

The lads will release their latest song on September 30 - but it's available for pre-order from tonight at midnight.

The new track sees the global superstars once again teaming up with songwriters Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub & Carl Falk.

According to our sources in the industry the result is "unmistakeably One Direction - pop perfection — an immediate, energy packed song mixing rock undertones with smooth harmonies, about living for the moment."

OMG we can't wait.

The second album is due for release in November 2012 and sees One Direction collaborating with a whole host of first class writers and producers.

As well as reuniting with the likes of Rami Yacoub & Carl Falk and Savan Kotecha ('One Thing' & 'What Makes You Beautiful'), Ed Sheeran and McFly's Tom Fletcher, the album features input from Dr Luke (Katy Perry 'Teenage Dream', Taio Cruz 'Dynamite'), Shellback (Maroon 5 'Moves Like Jagger') and Toby Gad (Beyonce 'If I Were A Boy').

Niall posted on his own Twitter account: "Now you've heard the name of the first single! Cannot wait for you to hear the song itself now!"
