Missy Franklin needs to stop making the rest of the female teenage population jealous.
She's not trying to. But there must be some Beliebers out there who are turning green with envy.
That's right, Franklin has received more attention from teen heartthrob Justin Bieber.
Bieber, who tweeted Franklin congratulations after she won her first Olympic gold medal, sent the 17-year-old swimmer a personalized present, Franklin told NBC's Today show Friday.
"He sent me a huge care package, which was so awesome," she said. "I walk home and my mom is so cute; she took everything out and set it out on the table. I had T-shirts and CDs and posters and all that stuff."
And it won't be long before she sees the singer in person. She's going to his concert in Denver in January. [Insert "One less lonely girl" joke here.]
"My friend actually bought me tickets for my birthday, so we're going to go, and I think we might be able to get backstage passes -- hopefully," she said, laughing.
Franklin also said on the show that she will appear in the upcoming movie The Internship,' starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. It's not quite like Bieber's Never Say Never movie, but it's a start.
