CAPTAIN SENSIBLE STRIKES AGAIN..
We have heard the story about how the lads came up with their band name many a time and while we clearly have Harry Styles to thank for the genius that was calling themselves One Direction, it sounds like it was also a lucky escape from the wrath of Liam Payne and his exceptionally sensible ideas.
Explaining the story of how they got their name to Hot 95.7FM Phoenix, bandmates Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson also spilt the beans about quite how deep and dark the extent of Liam's sensibleness really is.
"Basically we just came up with the idea to make loads of names up and it was one of the first names Harry came up with. He just text it to us and we were like, 'Yeah I like that, it's cool,'" Zayn said.
So what other options did they consider then?
"There were some really embarrassing ones that Liam came up with.. What was the other one? USP... Unique Selling Point."
Of course Louis couldn't resist chipping in to give his artistic thoughts on the matter in a typically subtle manner, saying: "That is the WORST! Although to be fair, you have to be brave even to mention it in the first place.."
Luckily Zayn seems to have formulated a technique for dealing with all this common sense: "It's like Liam, just be quiet!"
It turns out Daddy Direction's ways might run in the family, as Louis explained, saying: "I think it came from his dad... Sorry Geoff."
While we think dads are definitely in the know when it comes to sorting out the telly aerial and giving us a lift to the bus stop, we have also seen the effect our dad dancing can have on a room, so probably won't be asking him for tips on being cool any time soon..
