Selena Gomez says the "hardest part" of the perfume-making process was coming up with the bottle design.
The stunning star launched her debut namesake scent at Macy's Herald Square on Saturday. Selena initially struggled with the appearance of the packaging, but soon decided on something that was familiar to her glitzy Hollywood lifestyle.
"The bottle was the hardest part," she told WWD. "On red carpets I wear a lot of dresses and gowns so they [licensing company, ID Perfumes] made a bottle that represented a gown."
Selena invited her fans to choose from Apple, Raspberry or Melon for the top notes of the perfume. The singer-and-actress is glad she included her loyal supporters in the process.
"The scent itself I feel definitely represents me. It's really romantic, its youthful and warm, it's not overbearing. I am proud of it. My fans got to help out and pick every single note with me. [My fans] are part of me," she gushed.
Selena's boyfriend Justin Bieber also recently launched a scent at Macy's. The star - who insists she has no plans to create a fragrance with her beau - thinks debuting perfumes at the US chain is a great platform.
"Macy's is very good at campaigning and they are really proud of their clients so I knew my fragrance would be taken care of," she said.
