Selena Gomez might usually be associated with more family friendly viewing, but since filming upcoming movie Spring Breakers with Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and James Franco, it sounds like she's actually become a bit of a bad-ass.
An ex-Disney star, she and boyfriend Justin Bieber have always had a squeaky clean image that we'd usually associate with kittens, glitter and the occasional rainbow. But it sounds like all that fondue in front of the fire (coupled with the odd alleged police investigation chucked in there) has got Selena taking a walk on the wildside - at least in her professional life anyway.
The edgy flick will see Selena not just guzzling the odd wine but taking drugs and being arrested by police too, and speaking to Interview Magazine about her brand new, on screen persona, Sel explained why she's decided to try something a bit different.
"I was getting kind of repetitive in terms of the roles I was picking, and I really wanted to do something that was completely different.
"It was a mark thing for me – like, 'This is what I want to be doing.' I want to be taking myself seriously as an actress, and this was definitely a stretch."
From the sound of things, it wasn't exactly all fun and games and apparently the change took a bit of getting used to for Selena
"I mean, I'd never smoked a cigarette before in my entire life. It was really funny – they had to show me how to do it," she added.
Aww bless her cotton socks - or do we mean designer hold-ups, now that she's all bad-ass and that?
