One Direction fans go to extreme measures to meet the band... including hiding in a bin for FOUR hours

Being a One Direction fan can be rubbish sometimes... especially when you’re hiding in a bin for FOUR hours.

Security had to remove a fan from the band’s dustbin after they stowed themselves away in between a few apple cores and takeaway boxes in an attempt to get themselves noticed by the boys.

Honestly, would you really want to meet One Direction when you smell like a load of old trash?

“They got busted,” admits Zayn Malik, 19. “They hid in a bin and tried to come in the back entrance.”

Sources tell me the boys security - already on high alert following the near riot that met Niall Horan and Liam Payne in New York last week - are now checking out even the smallest of nooks and crannies for potential crazed and deranged overexcited fans.

One less smelly but equally as weird fan kayaked across a lake while the boys were staying in Toronto over the weekend.

The boys were given police protection over on their current tour of the States, after last week when, Niall and Liam, both 18, had their clothes torn by 60 girls outside their hotel in New York, while only one security guard was present.

A source tells me: “The methods fans are using are getting more ingenious.

"Some have been regularly booking out rooms in their hotel - some even tried to dress up as staff.

“But the boys’ minders won’t be letting any of these tricks get past them.

"They’ll look in every bin if they have to.”
