Niall Horan larks around with the band's drummer ahead of Toronto concert

One Direction have been touring since late last year, so when they get an opportunity to have fun they grab it with both hands.

And that's exactly what Niall Horan did yesterday before preparing to go on stage in Toronto for the second time.

The 18-year-old singer was spotted fooling around outside the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre as he sat on a musician's shoulder.

The Irish star clearly doesn't weigh that much as the band's drummer, Josh Devine, was more than happy to hold him up as he danced in the air.

Wearing light-coloured shorts, a blue T-shirt and a Toronto Blue Jays baseball cap, Niall appeared to be in good spirits as he flung his arms around.

Perhaps he was celebrating the fantastic reception that the boyband had received while in Canada.

Last night saw them perform in Toronto for the second time and they obviously enjoyed doing so as Niall took to his Twitter page and said: 'Off to sleep, Canada u were amazing as always! Love u guys! Off to Detroit for us! See ya soon.'

However, despite being in Australia in April and touring the U.S. in May, the boyband do get to enjoy some downtime such as on Wednesday when they took a trip to Niagra Falls.

After checking out the falls from the Canadian side, they embarked on a cruise on the famous Maid Of The Mist - wearing the disposable waterproof jackets to protect their clothing from the falls' spray.

Once again, Niall clearly enjoyed himself having tweeted: 'Gona try n sleep for a bit! amazing day at niagra (sic) falls.'

The band were also spotted making a pit-stop at a local branch of Taco Bell and went on the Cave Of The Winds tour - an elevator ride down into the gorge of the falls and the Crystal Caves Maze Of Mirrors attraction.

After performing in Detroit tomorrow, the X Factor stars will then treat their fans to shows in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando with the Up All Night tour coming to an end on July 1.
