Justin Bieber's Believe hits gold status

The first single of the album, the premiere global smash “Boyfriend” has received unprecedented airplay across TV, radio and clubs culminating in a perfect build up for the album launch here.

The album is flying off the shelves not only in India but across the world where Believe debuted at #1 in 30 countries! In the US, Believe takes the #1 Sound scan position this week and is the highest Billboard sound scan debut of the year, garnering the 18-year-old his fourth #1 album on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

"That's the most chart-toppers for any act in the two-and-a-half-year span since Bieber made his chart debut in December 2009," said an official spokesperson on Friday.

Taking the momentum forward, Universal Music India said it is readying out-of-the-box marketing and promotion campaigns for the album including an opportunity for his legion of fans in India to meet the pop phenomenon Justin Bieber himself.

Devraj Sanyal, Managing Director, Universal Music India & SAARC, said, “Beiber's ongoing teen appeal continues to be his best weapon as he releases `Believe’, an album which I think must have been a challenge to create. This is the rare album that tries to be everything to everyone and largely succeeds.

"Justin's newfound sexual maturity coupled with his deeper voice and more intense songwriting makes `Believe’ one of the most exciting international releases of 2012".

With worldwide album sales in excess of 15 million units, Justin has dominated pop culture and social media for more than two years.

He has over 44 million Facebook fans, more than 23 million Twitter followers, and over 3 billion YouTube views – he is far and away the most popular YouTube artist of all time.
