Justin Bieber expected to top UK charts

Justin Bieber is likely to see of competition from Cheryl Cole and top the UK album charts this weekend.

Sales of the Canadian pop sensation's third album, Believe, are edging ahead of the former Girls Aloud member's third album, titled A Million Lights.

According to midweek sales figures from the Official Charts Company, Bieber had sold 3,000 more copies as of yesterday (June 20th), putting him on track to secure his first UK number one album.

Believe is the follow-up to Under the Mistletoe and looks set to deny Cheryl her third successive chart-topping album, after 3 Words and Messy Little Raindrops debuted at the top spot in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

Bieber's latest single, As Long As Your Love Me, debuted in the singles chart last week and currently sits at number 30. His previous single, Boyfriend, is in 42nd place after ten weeks on the chart.

Cheryl is at number one in the singles chart with Call My Name, with Flo Rida's Whistle in second place.
