Justin Bieber ended a radio interview after the host made a joke about Harry Styles and the 'Boyfriend' singer's mother.
Bieber, 18, was talking to Detroit's Mojo In The Morning on Thursday (June 28) when interviewer Thomas Carballot mentioned his friendship with the members of One Direction.
After Bieber described the band as "good kids", Carballot made light of Styles's previous relationships with older women.
"Do you worry about Harry around your mum, since he likes older women?" said the DJ.
Bieber asked the host to repeat the question, before replying: "I think you should worry about your mum, though."
When Carballot revealed that his mother was dead, Bieber hung up, cutting the interview short.
Bieber's management admitted that he was "a little upset" by the question after attempts to reconnect the call failed. After speaking to the star again, they said he would "probably not" call the station back.
Carballot revealed that he decided to ask about Styles after hearing Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez joke about their friendship on a talkshow.
"She made a comment that they'd been becoming friends with One Direction," explained show producer Rachel Giordano.
"She jokingly said: 'Ha ha, Justin said we need to keep our mums away because they're hot and young for Harry'.
"So Justin made a joke, Selena was recounting that story and that's where [we] got it from."
