Justin Bieber [scream!] and One Direction [scream again!] are set for a one-off collaboration. Really.
The Canadian foetus is to record a track alongside Niall, Harry, Louis, Zayn and Liam on the band’s eagerly awaited second album.
With a combined age of about 22, the children are thus all but guaranteed a No.1 smash on both sides of the pond.
Justin says: “The One Direction guys are great. We have a lot of fun whenever we hang out. They came over my house and we were just chilling out around the pool and listening to music.
“We were talking about me collaborating with them on a song on their next album. It’s gonna be great.
“And I asked them who else they would like to work with. They were, like, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez."
Rihanna? She may be a terrible influence on them, looking at what she was up to yesterday.
“Now don’t get me wrong those are all very talented artists but there seems to be a pattern emerging and, looking at the smile on the guys’ faces, I don’t think it was all about the music...”
The Boyfriend singer, 18, is also impressed with the lads’ magnetism.
“They sure have an eye for the ladies but, even better for the guys, the ladies have a bit of an eye for them, too,” he continues.
“From what I hear they shouldn’t have much trouble trying to persuade Rihanna, Katy or Taylor to work with them... if you know what I’m saying.”
I think we do, Justin.
Proving himself something of a One Dimental [ie superfan], the young Canadian adds: “The great thing about them is that they might be the biggest band in the world but they have stayed regular guys who are just fun to hang with.
“I don’t see them changing. They are just so grounded and have each other.” Aaaah.
Meanwhile, regular Anglophile Justin is seen in a Union Jack T-shirt while hugging Ms Perry during NBC’s two-hour Justin Bieber: All Around The World popumentary shown in the US this week.
So impressed with said T-shirt is the former Mrs Brand that she is seen fondly squeezing the Bieb’s bottom.
Which surely must see her placed on some kind of register.
* and their mums.
