Zayn Malik is known by most as one of the heartthrobs of recently gone-massive British pop band One Direction. Whilst not quite in the same league of hunkdom as his band mate Harry Styles, Malik is very much a popular man among the group's largely teenage audience; but is he in fact using this position of influence to impact your children?
According to the UK's Daily Mirror that's exactly what American right-wing blogger Debbie Schlussel thinks he's doing, accusing Malik of brainwashing them into following the religion of Islam. We're going to go ahead and claim right now that this is pretty unlikely. "You probably don't know that one of its members, Zayn Malik, is pimping Islam on your kids," she reportedly wrote, "That's in addition to his Arabic tattoos and frequent donning of the keffiyeh, the official garb of Islamic terrorism."
It goes on like this. "He knows the power he has over these mindless girls and is using that influence to preach the Islamic faith to them and try to convert them. It's dangerous." She also went onto insist that Malik had been chosen to join One Direction to be the "Islamic face" of the band because "Islam sells in Britain". That, or perhaps he was just young and really good looking.
