It’s no surprise to learn that Justin Bieber is on track to land at No. 1 on Billboard’s album chart with the just-released “Believe.”
But it also looks as though the teen sensation may have this year’s fasting-selling album, with projected first-week sales of anywhere between 410,000 and 440,000, according to Billboard.
And unlike the current fastest-selling album of the year, Madonna’s “MDNA” — which posted first-week sales of 359,000 (according to Nielsen SoundScan) — Bieber’s sales do not include albums given away in a bundle with a concert ticket... like Madonna’s sales.
This is a case of fans actually buying an album because they want it.
It’s doubtful he can top Madonna’s other record, though, for steepest second-week decline in sales.
