Demi Lovato has come a long way from her Disney days.
She has overcome very public struggles with eating disorders, self-injury and other personal and family issues and appears to be back on top again, having focused back on her music and philanthropic efforts.
With a new gig as a judge for the American version of the U.K. hit show “The X Factor” and a reinvented sound on her latest album “Unbroken,” Lovato is leaving her past in the dust and trying to make a comeback.
And San Diegans can judge for themselves whether she’s definitely on her way back on Tuesday when she performs at the San Diego County Fair.
With a fresh new R&B style and album contributors such as Missy Elliott and Timbaland — and album track titles such as “All Night Long,” “Who’s That Boy?” and “You’re My Only Shorty” — it looks like the 19-year-old from New Mexico will come out and give a show that will have fairgoers on their feet.
