When it comes to the public's distaste for Taylor Swift's patented "shocked" award-show visage, we'll respond with Swift's own words: "Why you gotta be so mean?"
Swift's signature expression has sparked commentary both in the Twittersphere and among her peers. At the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, even Blake Shelton threw a jab at Swift, mocking her coined "I can't believe I won!" face.
However, wide eyes and a hand to open mouth seems to be a pretty typical award-winner pose, in our book. Sure, Ms. Swift might as well be seated onstage during any ceremony in which she is nominated, but we don't blame her for at least trying to act surprised.
And Swift isn't the first celebrity to experience moments of shock and awe on camera. Stars like Jane Lynch, Milla Jovovich, Katy Perry and Helena Bonham Carter have all gotten carried away by the excitement of an award won, a red carpet walked or even a really juicy book read (we're looking at you, Russell Brand).
