Miley Cyrus has scrapped a planned appearance on this week's American Idol finale.
Philip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez go head-to-head in the eleventh season's climax on Wednesday, but Cyrus will not be hitting the stage.
E! reports that bosses at the singing competition had tried to get the actress and popstar on the bill, but were unable to close the deal.
And a rep for the star adds: "It's not happening. It didn't come together in time."
Despite Sanchez being the obvious judges' choice for victory, it is Phillips who is the favourite with bookies.
Ladbrokes give him generous odds-on chances of 1/3, with Jessica, who had to be saved from elimination earlier in the season after receiving the lowest number of viewer votes, on 9/4.
