Justin Bieber seemingly fired the shot heard round his fandom. A tweet seemed to hint that his relationship with Selena Gomez was at an end. It seemed plausable given everything going on… but it’s not. They are still together.
The Tweet read: “Thank you for the time I had with you but now I have to move on.”
That’s it. One line. No names. But hey, who has he been spending the most time with? Plus there were other subtle signs of possible friction in the relationship. And they’ve been spending long stretches apart.
Selena is in far away Bulgaria filming her latest movie “The Getaway.” Justin has been in Los Angeles making videos and promoting his new album.
But the tweet, it seems, was not from Justin. Celebrity Tweet, a Web site that archives celebrity posts, even if they delete them later, said that the breakup tweet did not come from Justin’s account.
The teen singer’s rep also said the tweet was fake. But wait. Does that mean they’re still together?
The way things have been going lately, it’s going to be hard to believe until they are caught kissing again on the L.A. Lakers kissing cam.
But for the moment, the benefit of the doubt goes to 21 million Beliebers, who have faith in the couple. At least most of them do. Some no doubt were rejoicing in a possible breakup. But no need to go there.
