One Direction's Zayn Malik: It's all too much

Zayn’s feeling overwhelmed by screaming fans and round-the-clock security.

If having Beatlemania levels of attention equals success, there's no question that One Direction are firmly at the top of the pop hierarchy.

Wherever they go, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan are swamped by fans.

But it's the few hysterical supporters who stop short of nothing to get close to them that have us caring types at Now HQ worried!

Our hearts sank when we heard that the pressure could be getting to some of the lads.

Una Carrigan, 25, who spent a night out with Zayn, 19, and Harry, 18, in Sydney on 11 April, says Zayn's finding he band's meteoric rise to fame a little ‘too much'.

Una, who bumped into the boys at Sydney's Scary Canary bar, tells Now: 'The crowd were bombarding the two lads and just kept throwing themselves at them.

'It was so bad that one of their group's bouncers had to ask for an area near the bar to be cordoned off.

'It was ridiculous. Zayn kept saying it was all too much and that he was just trying to have a fun night out.'
